For travelling services like house sitting, drop-in visits, and walks, Rover allows you to set a specific service area. As a sitter, you can set a starting point – such as your home address – and then specify how far you're willing to travel for requests.
You can set a different service area for each of your travelling services. For instance, you might want to stay within walking distance for dog walks but be willing to drive farther for house sitting.
You can define your service area by distance (miles) or by estimated travel time (minutes). You can also specify your transportation method (walking, driving, biking) to help calculate more accurate travel estimates.

Additional Information
- Consider the area where you live. For example, if you're in a dense city, you might set a small radius by distance for walking. In a suburban area, you might set a larger radius by travel time and select driving as your travel mode.
- You may still receive requests from outside your service area (for example, from past pet owners or pet owners who may be a good match). You can decline these requests at any time.
- The distance and time shown in your service area preferences are estimates; the actual commute time and distance for each booking may vary.
