How do I contact pet owners using the mobile app?

Open communication is the key to any great relationship, which is why we’ve made it easy to keep in touch with pet owners using the Rover mobile app.

Once you’re in contact with a pet owner, you can communicate with them from the app via Rover Messages. Here’s how:

  1. Tap Inbox at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap Pending for unbooked stays or walks, or Upcoming for booked stays that are upcoming or in progress.
  3. Tap the mailbox icon at the top left of your screen to see your Past stays or Archived requests.
  4. Tap the conversation you’d like to continue. You can write a message and attach photos or videos, then tap send.

Contacting a pet owner during a walk, drop-in, or day care service

You can also call the pet owner directly if anything comes up during a walk, a drop-in visit, or a day care stay in the app. This is typically reserved for emergencies (i.e., “is it okay that Spot ate that?”), but it all depends on your relationship with the pet owner.

Here’s how to get in touch during a service:

  1. Tap Home at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Tap the booking you’re tracking.
  3. Tap Call Owner.

You can also contact Rover’s Trust & Safety team. They’re available 24/7 if an emergency arises or you’re concerned about the well-being of an animal in your care.

Here’s how to get in touch:

  1. Tap Home at the bottom your screen.
  2. Tap the booking you’re tracking.
  3. Scroll down, tap Call Rover.
